This class covers the most common designs of epidemiologic studies and clinical trials, their advantages and disadvantages, and the situations where each design is most appropriate.

Information is presented in non-technical terms, and emphasis is on understanding the concepts rather than theory and formulas.

At the end of the class, participants should have a good enough grasp of possible clinical research study designs to be able to determine the most appropriate one for their own study.

Plenty of time is devoted to questions to and from participants. References are provided for more in-depth self-study.
